The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) is a star rating system out of ten stars that rates the energy efficiency of a home, based on its design. The assessment process involves modeling a dwelling in a NatHERS certified thermal simulation software tool, outlining site conditions, orientation, building materials and all design elements. Specific guidelines must be adhered to when simulating a dwelling in order to preserve consistency and fair comparison of different dwellings with different climate conditions
